Interests:
Within the framework of the 5th Days of Education and Non-violence, we call to an “International Forum for Worldwide Nuclear Disarmament (IFWND)" whose interest is to appeal to society, from the Universities and Research Centres, warning against the danger the nuclear weapons represent and its consequences in politics, economy and international relationships.
A greater danger can be added to these well-known threats. Nuclear weapons are about to become not only dissuasive elements in conflicts but also real weapons to use at the governments own will. The biggest World Powers are considering this possibility nowadays. If this possibility turns into reality, we’ll face an unimaginable worldwide catastrophe.
Civil Forum for Worldwide Nuclear Disarmament
This Forum calls to associations, groups, social movements and people to form a “Civil Forum for Worldwide Disarmament” organizing tables of work, conferences, panels, forum discussions, cine forums, etc, where the danger of nuclear weapons can be disscused and the whole subject questioned.
We believe that only Civil Society can give an answer with moral encouragement enough to press governments, demanding clear statements against nuclear weapons and actions to press the other governments who are supporting the race of nuclear weapons to carry out the NPT they signed and to defuse all the nuclear weapons.
The Civil Forum will take place in all the places in which a group of people is organized to interchange, to make statements, to spread and to make activities reporting the research, manufacturing, use, transport and storage of nuclear and radiactive weapons. This activity can turn up as a work table or workshop.
The tables can send their conclussions, statements, lectures, popossals, actions and campaings to the Social Area of the Forum to be included in the final resolutions.
The different forms of participation can be found in the blog. http://forodesarme.blogspot.com/
